Alcohol & Other Drugs
Alcohol and other drug problems in the workplace are very complex issues. They cannot be dealt with by simplistic measures or one-off programs. These problems require a fully integrated approach. In return the employer will find that they have a happier, healthier and safer workplace.
IPS Worldwide has been providing solutions to alcohol and other drug issues in the workplace for over 20 years.
As well as organising the first four National Conferences on Alcohol and Other Drugs in the Workplace in Australia, IPS also regularly conducts training, education and consultation in this area.
Education programs include awareness sessions on the dangers of substance abuse in the workplace, quit smoking programs, and guidelines for supervisors and managers in handling suspected substance abuse. IPS can assist in the development of organisational policy in relation to such dependancy issues. Specific programs can be launched throughout the client organisation in a non-confrontational manner. Speak to your Account Manager for more information on available interventions or contact IPS at ips@eap.com.au.
Gambling
Gambling is becoming an increasing issue in today’s world. In the workplace this can lead to issues such as interpersonal conflict and theft. On the personal front it can result in family and marital difficulties, which also may impact the workplace.
IPS not only provides assistance with problem gambling through an organisation’s EAP, but can also assist in the provision of other specific interventions and programs. In some organisations where gambling is a core aspect of their business, staff are frequently confronted by irate, and in some cases depressed or abusive patrons.
IPS provides consultation for these organisations on how to deal with these issues, whether through an EAP for staff, or other assistance services for both staff and patrons.
